The pigskin used for this bag is Japanese leather tanned in Sumida, Tokyo. The leather has a soft texture and is popular with customers for its pleasant feel. A characteristic of the tanning process is that small stains and scratches remain as part of the texture. Since it is natural leather, we make products that make use of that texture. We do not apply a thick layer of makeup (no processing) to the surface of the leather to hide stains and scratches, so the soft texture remains. Please understand this before purchasing.
