聚丙烯晴纖維，又稱壓克力纖維(Acrylic fiber)，乃合成纖維中仿羊毛觸感而研製出最成功的一種纖維，最像羊毛，但沒有羊毛的輕柔，常和羊毛混紡在一起。優點是質輕、蓬鬆、保暖、不縮不皺，比羊毛容易清洗，較不會引起過敏；對多數化學劑有良好抗力，但無法抗鹼及含氯漂白劑的侵害，易洗快乾、不易起縐、不易縮水變形、不怕太陽光照射、不怕發霉及蛀虫.
近來來壓克力纖維經過改良和發展,逐漸取代兔毛,羊毛的保暖功效,尤其是近來最流行的發暖衣或極暖衣,更是由壓克力纖維成份製成,不僅清洗方便,保暖效果也極佳.
聚丙烯腈纖維的性能極似羊毛彈性較好,伸長20%時回彈率仍可保持65%，蓬松捲曲而柔軟，保暖性比羊毛高15%，有合成羊毛之稱。強度 22.1～48.5cN/dtex，比羊毛高1～2.5倍。耐曬性能優良，露天曝曬一年，強度僅下降20%，可做成窗簾、幕布、篷布、炮衣等。能耐酸、耐氧化劑和一般有機溶劑，但耐鹼性較差。纖維軟化溫度190～230℃。
