Turquoise is one of the oldest protection amulets, and was also known as a symbol of wealth and nobility in many ancient cultures. It is a very simple, delicate necklace, with a slight ethnic touch, easily worn for everyday occasions. The necklace can be combined with a matching turquoise and silver beads bracelet and earrings. All silver parts are hand crafted in 98% Silver by Thai Karen hill-tribe artisans. The Karen are a group of ethnic peoples who reside primarily in southern and southeastern Burma and in northern and north-eastern Thailand. Thai and Burmese hill tribes can be traced back to the 12th century when they are said to have originated from Tibet.
