This collection has been collaborated with Thai ceramic and basketry makers.
We discovered bamboo weaving village in Thailand that has produced household products for their home use. We see the delicate technique that they use fine inner layer of bamboo in the weave.
Every chandelier is costum made, so you may not recieve exactly the same pattern on the marbleize effect. This lamp has 2 layers of material that we created; marble top and bamboo bottom.
Marble top: We use plaster to minimise the weight of the lamp which we try to create marbling technique by mixing 2 plaster colours. We use our prototype mold that we formed by hand.
Bamboo bottom: This layer is the most flexible layer of bamboo that we formed in bowl shape following our initial design. We dye in black colour before weaving into the particular shape.
We have simplified the traditional craft with a twist of function elegantly. This lamp not only serves as pendant lamp, but it can be a decorative items in any space.
