This wheel-thrown vase was made in my small pottery workshop here in Taiwan.
I used local Taiwanese clay and then applied a black matte glaze.
This vase stands 17 cm tall and would look at sitting at your dining room table.
I made this vase in the wabi sabi style of thinking - beauty in imperfection. While throwing the vase I made an aggressive indentation with a wood tool straight up the middle of the vase. I think a handmade pot should show the hand of the maker. A handmade pot is made with emotion and an appreciation of the material. This feeling somehow becomes part of the pot.
Be the owner of a handmade vase, made on the beautiful island of Taiwan.
