It is gently handwoven using two strands of fine yarn, giving it a fluffy, soft texture with trapped air, unlike machine-woven products. It has a very smooth feel and drapes lightly and comfortably. Delicate and intricate patterns are woven with soft ivory for the warp and a grayish Prussian blue for the weft. In traditional Japanese colors, this is a beautiful shade close to "deep indigo" (深縹色).
