This wide chawan was thrown on the wheel in my small pottery shop here in Taiwan.
I used Taiwanese clay and then glazed the inner bowl and part of the body in an original glaze.
While the tea bowl was still wet, I etched spontaneous patterns on the side.
My plan with this tea bowl was to make something that was quite free in feeling. It was a joy to make.
I then reduction fired the bowl for 14 hours.
My seal is stamped near the foot ring.
